故 조옥화 여사는 자칫 단절이 될 뻔 한 민족의 술, 안동소주를 지역 민속주로서의 명맥을 이어나가게 한 장본인입니다. 현재는 그의 아들, 김연박 식품 명인이 뒤를 이어 나가고 있죠. 재료는 오직 쌀과 누룩 뿐으로, 전통 주조방식을 고수합니다. 먼저 누룩을 틀에 넣고 따뜻한 방바닥에 놓아 발로 디뎌 공기층을 없앱니다. 고두밥과 누룩을 섞고 술독에서 20일간 발효를 시킨 뒤 45도에 맞춰 안동소주를 내리죠. 물은 커녕 불필요한 첨가물을 일체 섞지 않아 더 깨끗한 안동소주를 통해 선조들의 지혜를 오롯이 느껴보세요.
